How Sleepy Stories Works — A Parent's Walkthrough

Exactly what happens from sign-up to story in your inbox. No surprises, no hidden steps.

Step 1: Create an account

You sign up with your email address and create a password. That's the whole account creation — no app to download, no profile photo, no onboarding survey. You'll set up your child's details in the next step.

Step 2: Set up your child's profile

This is the part that matters. You tell us about your child:

  • Their name and age — so the story is written at the right level and uses their name throughout
  • What they're into right now — dinosaurs, space, fairies, trains, whatever the current obsession is
  • Extra details — their pet's name, a best friend, a favourite character, anything that makes the story feel specifically theirs
  • Bedtime and timezone — the time you want the story to arrive, so it's in your inbox before you start the routine

You can update any of this at any time. The stories reflect changes immediately.

Step 3: Subscribe

Sleepy Stories is £X/month or £X/year. One subscription covers up to two child profiles — each with their own story, interests, and delivery time. Payment is processed securely — we never store your card details.

Step 4: The story arrives

Every night, just before the bedtime you chose, a story arrives in your inbox. The subject line includes your child's name. Open it, read it to them. That's the whole product.

The story is usually 400–600 words — about 5–8 minutes to read aloud at a calm pace. It ends resolved and peaceful. No cliffhangers, no scary moments, nothing that will wire them up when they should be winding down.

What if I miss a night?

The story sits in your inbox until you're ready for it. If you miss a night, nothing is lost. You can always use last night's story tonight.

How do I cancel?

One click in your dashboard. No calls, no forms. If you're unhappy in your first 30 days, email us and we'll refund your first payment in full.
