Terms of Service

Sleepy Stories provides an AI-generated personalised bedtime story service. After creating an account and completing a child profile, you receive one unique story per child per night, delivered to your email address at the time you specify. Stories are generated using an AI language model (Anthropic Claude). They are written freshly for each delivery based on the profile information you provide. Story quality may vary. We do not guarantee any specific creative outcome, educational outcome, or that every story will meet your expectations.

You must be 18 years or older to create an account. You are responsible for keeping your login credentials secure and for all activity that occurs under your account. Each account supports up to two child profiles. If you need stories for more than two children, you will need to create a separate subscription. You may not share your account with others or use the service on behalf of third parties without a separate agreement.

New accounts receive a 7-day free trial. You will be asked to add payment details through Stripe when you start the trial, but you will not be charged until the trial ends. If you start a trial, add payment details, and then cancel before the trial period ends, you will not be charged.

After the free trial, Sleepy Stories costs either $9.99 per month or $67 per year, depending on the plan you choose at checkout. Billing is in advance. Payments are processed securely by Stripe. We do not store your payment card details. Your subscription renews automatically each month. You can cancel at any time from your dashboard or by emailing hello@sleepystories.co. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period — you will not receive a refund for the remainder of the period, but stories will continue until it ends. If a payment fails, we will retry and notify you by email. If payment cannot be collected after multiple attempts, your account will be suspended.

We do not offer refunds for periods already billed except where required by applicable consumer law. If you have a billing issue or believe you have been charged in error, contact hello@sleepystories.co and we will review it.

Stories are generated by AI and are for personal, non-commercial use within your household. You may read the stories to your child. You may not reproduce, republish, sell, or distribute them. We are not responsible for the content of AI-generated stories beyond reasonable quality controls. If a story contains content you find inappropriate, please contact us at hello@sleepystories.co and we will investigate. We reserve the right to refuse service to accounts that attempt to misuse the story generation system (e.g. providing profile information designed to elicit harmful content).

We aim to deliver stories reliably every night. However, we do not guarantee uninterrupted service. Occasional failures due to technical issues, third-party outages (including email delivery or AI generation services), or scheduled maintenance may occur. If stories fail to deliver on a given night, we will make reasonable efforts to notify you. Persistent delivery failures should be reported to hello@sleepystories.co. Check your spam folder if stories do not arrive — email clients sometimes filter automated messages. Adding our sending address (stories@sleepystories.co) to your contacts should prevent this.

You may close your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms, engage in fraudulent activity, or abuse the service. On termination, your data will be deleted in accordance with our Privacy Policy.

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Sleepy Stories is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from use of the service. Our total liability in connection with the service is limited to the amount you paid in the 12 months prior to the claim. Nothing in these terms limits liability for fraud, death or personal injury caused by negligence, or any other liability that cannot be excluded by law.

We may update these terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify you by email at least 14 days before the changes take effect. Continued use of the service after that date constitutes acceptance.

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
